Master of Ceremonies (MC)
Jeff Turner is a hard working proud father of two by day and on air radio personality on nights and weekends for Project 88.7. Jeff earned his BA from University of Michigan in Sports Management and Communications. He currently serves the Boise community coaching soccer, volunteering at the Treasure Valley YMCA and other youth programs. When he is not coaching sports, Jeff works with the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries as a Development and Events Assistant.
Jeff is originally from Boston but has called Boise home for the last 7 years. His favorite Soul Food is fried catfish! (But he’s not a catfish.)

The Boise Soul Food Festival has partnered with 2C Yoga to bring you Yoga in the Park featuring Nicole Beall, E-RYT 200 YACEP Instructor and Co-Founder of 2C Yoga Located in Nampa, Idaho.
Nicole’s love of yoga began in 2004 as a way to help heal physical injuries. In her journey as a Curvy Black Yogini, she found herself feeling unwelcome in many yoga spaces. She became a teacher so that she could create a space where others could feel welcomed and respected no matter what they bring to the mat. Yoga inspires her to encourage others to embrace themselves and find freedom from comparison and judgement.
This is a FREE community event sponsored by the Soul Food Festival Committee. Dedicated to serving great food in a family friendly atmosphere. Good for the soul, body and mind.

Meet West Coast-born singer Melia with a passion music! She’s had the pleasure of singing for audiences across multiple states, delivering unforgettable performances and shining in competitions. Her studio expertise has led her to create catchy jingles for commercials, leaving a mark on the advertising world. Now settled in Idaho for five years, she has continued her melodious journey working with local companies and artists.

Leta Harris Neustaedter has been entertaining audiences in the Treasure Valley for over 30 years. Her Soul Cats repertoire includes soul, jazz and R&B classics as well as newer material from contemporary artists, with special emphasis on celebrating the melanated.

Shon Sanders and the Four Penny Peepshow has been playing festivals, and a vast array of venues all across the Northwest for over eight years together. Inspired by the likes of Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, Isaac Hayes, Tower of Power and P-Funk, just to name a few, this band brings their own funk and jazz infused flavor to their soulful original music as well as your classic favorites.

Smooth Avenue is a 7-8 piece ensemble featuring the soulful vocals of Koki Gonzalez and JT. Also featured are the guitar stylings of Joe Ryan and a host of talented music makers on guitar, sax, trumpet, keyboards and percussion. Smooth Avenue has headlined many Treasure Valley festivals such as the Blues and Bones Festival, the Soulfood Festival, the Race to Robie Creek and St Chapelle Winery. Smooth has sold out the Sapphire Room in Boise 16 times
With selections of funk, soul and blues.
Fans of Smooth Avenue are called ‘Smoothies’. If you aren’t a Smoothie before the show, you are sure to be a fan after.

ICC is a circus entertainment company geared towards celebrating the circus and performing arts community in the Treasure Valley. The Idaho Circus Collective is owned and represented by Cuream Jackson. Cuream is a professional circus artist that got his start right here in Boise. He’s traveled the world performing internationally on Aida Cruise lines and locally with the Redlight Variety Show and the UPUPUP Crane Truck Circus. In all his and the collective’s work, they strive to foster more opportunities for circus artists and circus enthusiasts alike to perform. We are excited to be part of such a wonderful community event and looking forward to getting you all in the air.

Umoja Arts is represented by Meridian Lin Negilski, an artist, performer, and cultural educator with over 15 years of experience teaching West African dance and an MA in Theatre. In 2021, Meridian founded Umoja Arts to promote community building and cultural exchange through the arts of the African Diaspora. Informed by her research on collaborative choreography for collective healing, she offers space for transformation, healing, and connection through ritual movement and traditional African dance.
